      There are a lot of issues with this. Mainly, custom taxonomy's and other settings specific to one post type would not necessarily exist on the post type you are moving to.

      So in theory it may work, but here would be quite a few caveats to keep in mind when using it.

      So - just to rephrase this - you are looking for a way to overwrite the default plugin settings for specific custom post types?

        The core issue with this one is the WP plugin directory is all powered by SVN and I don't really want to maintain a separate dev install. I'm more than happy to accept svn diff files against the SVN development trunk
